hypnosis with groups
In module 2, we explored the language of hypnosis, and it might be useful to review this.
Because a group will be made up of a number of individuals, each with their own individual experiences and expectations, it is important to speak so that everyone is included, and nothing is said to have anyone disconnect from the experience.
We will speak so that as many options as possible are offered, with as many disclaimers so we have an opportunity to honour each individual's individuality in the group.
If we ask the group to close their eyes, some people might be more than willing, while others may not feel safe enough yet.
If we ask the group to listen to our words, and some [probably all] will drift off in their own thoughts from time to time, and might think that this isn't working, it's not for me, I'm not hypnotisable ... etc.
Here's an example of how we might speak in this somewhat strange way [until we get used to it] so that everyone can stay with the experience.
If you are working hypnotically with groups, I'd recommend you practice these language forms until you become familiar with them.
Have a listen, and leave a comment about your response.
